OS X 10.11 El Capitan support

Update 30th September 2015: Stay 1.2.5 has been released

With a new version of OS X on the horizon, we’re starting to finish up work on the next version of Stay. This year though, we thought we’d try something a little different and make beta versions available as we go.

So with that, version 1.2.5b8 of Stay is now available and can be downloaded here.

The usual beta caveats apply:

  • Beta versions aren’t tested as extensively as release versions are, so things may be broken.
  • Make a backup of your Stay configuration (copy the folder at ~/Library/Application Support/Stay) before running the beta, just in case.
  • If you run into any problems, please let us know via email (support@cordlessdog.com), or on Twitter (@cordlessdog).

Here’s the list of changes in Stay 1.2.5b8:

General Changes

  • Beta compatibility with OS X 10.11 El Capitan.
  • Stay can now store and restore windows when there are multiple copies of an application running simultaneously.
  • Stay 1.2.5b8 requires a minimum of OS X 10.10.4.

Bug Fixes:

  • Fixed a bug that prevented hot keys from working under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug that caused Stay to sometimes automatically restore windows unnecessarily.
  • Fixed a bug causing Stay to correctly resize but not reposition windows when restoring under certain conditions.
  • Fixed a bug that made it impossible to edit shell script actions under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a crash in the window linking interface.
  • Fixed a crash in the preferences interface.
  • Fixed a bug that prevented the progress window from being displayed on OS X 10.11.
